Liverpool sweat on Jordan Henderson’s injury

Liverpool have been dealt another injury setback as their captain Jordan Henderson was taken off at half-time in England’s Nations League game against Belgium. Henderson was replaced after he complained of a problem during the half-time break. The England international is expected to undergo further assessment on Monday when England return to St. George’s Park to prepare for their clash against Iceland on Wednesday.

Liverpool, who host table toppers Leicester City on Sunday have already lost Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Virgil van Dijk to injuries. Mohamaed Salah, who tested positive for Covid-19 is also likely to miss the Leicester game, leaving Jurgen Klopp with very few options to choose from.

England manager Gareth Southgate provided an update on Henderson by saying “Jordan had a bit of tightness at half-time and felt he couldn’t carry on. Medically I would have to leave that for now. We will just have to assess him when we get back.
